MarketingMarketing Working Group (MWG): This is the arm of OCP-IP that
organizes trade shows, press interviews, press releases, articles,
conferences, papers, newsletters, datasheets, white papers, all general
communication and collateral, and manages the content of the website www.ocpip.org. Activities are overseen by the President and
work is carried out by experts in these fields, permanently assigned to the
tasks. The MWG develops annual Marketing plans and coordinates directly with
the GSC, while having strong ties to the detailed daily activities occurring
in all Working Groups in OCP-IP. The close integration of the MWG within the organization ensures all
marketing activities and promotional opportunities are well articulated and
consistently communicated to the membership. If you are interested in
participating in any of the activities mentioned above, you can reach our
team by sending inquiries to admin@ocpip.org. The MWG meets formally, several times each week, and is always interested
in exploring all forms of promotional activity with our member companies.
Philosophically, good advertising for our membership is good for
OCP-IP! Trade Shows: Each year, OCP-IP participates in a number of
Conferences around the world. These shows are announced in advance in our
Newsletter and on our Website. In addition to shows where we host a booth or
pavilion, there are other events where member companies discuss OCP-usage in
featured papers or carry OCP-IP collateral in their booths. Papers too, are
normally listed in advance in the “coming events” section on the
website. Associated with these events, OCP-IP offers opportunities for promotion
to our membership. This can range from (cost effective) participation in our
pavilions at conferences, to placement of papers and collateral displays. We
typically feature panels and papers in our own pavilion and the subsequent
posting of such papers on our website routinely draws many hundreds of
readers to each paper over the following months. Indeed, our website is an
extremely popular promotional channel in its own right! Lastly, OCP-IP often sponsors major industry events; so, if you see our
banners or logo on display, you will normally find an announced
representative or booth location on-hand, where our staff are ready to
assist with your inquiries. If you are interested in any form of
collaboration on papers or promotion at Conferences and Trade shows, or wish
to place postings on our website, please contact us at admin@ocpip.org. Conference Papers: Each year there are a large number of papers
mentioning OCP-related products and our members are featured at numerous
prominent events. Our Marketing Working Group routinely receives invitations
to participate in many events around the world, in addition to those in
which we regularly participate. There are also seminars and workshops to
which we are invited, that offer great visibility and promotional
opportunities for our members. If you are a member of OCP-IP and have products or services that you wish
to promote at conferences and similar events, please call us to discuss
opportunities or send an email to admin@ocpip.org. Articles: OCP-IP secures the placement of a large number of
articles in the trade press each year. Our marketing professionals are
well-known to prominent editors and at major publications and are
responsible for coordinating both article placement and developing
inserts/outserts (these, typically featuring several OCP-IP members in the
same publication). All materials we have published can be found in our Press Room at www.ocpip.org. Once published
our articles continue to enjoy a strong additional readership as a result of
the popularity of our website. If you are a member of OCP-IP and want to discuss ideas for developing an
article or would like help placing an article you have already written,
please call us at (USA) 503-619-0560, or send an email to admin@ocpip.org. Library Participation: OCP-IP hosts a popular online library of
IP-core, EDA, ASIC and Design Service products at: http://www.ocpip.org/library/. All members are entitled
to list their offerings in this library, providing they can be available
with OCP support. A datasheet is available that describes this free service
to members, at www.ocpip.org/socket/datasheets/IP_Library_Datasheet_041106.pdf. The library is designed to provide a fast and efficient link between
potential customers and providers, by featuring a brief, categorized
description of the product and the contact information for Technical and
Business follow-ups. This means that entering your library content is a
simple, rapid activity. Importantly, we have also extended the visibility of
the library, by establishing links from other popular search sites. In addition to library content, OCP-IP hosts descriptions of all members
companies and hyperlinks to their sites, for the convenience of our site
visitors. If you have questions about our library service or wish to post
your own product listings, please contact us at admin@ocpip.org. Newsletter: Our quarterly Newsletter has been a regular
publication of OCP-IP since October 2002. The Newsletter is freely available
from our public website at: www.ocpip.org/pressroom/newsletters/. It
is also distributed by OCP-IP at all conferences we attend and by our
partners, through their separate websites. Several member companies also
distribute the Newsletter to their clients and customers. The Newsletter provides all the latest information on OCP-IP in a quick,
easy-to-read format. This includes updates on all Working Group activities,
featured technical articles and members, events and PR notices, advice on
new products and services available to members, a University corner, as well
as an update on prominent events and issues from the President. We review member submissions of technical articles for inclusion and
integrate those into this very popular quarterly publication. Participation
and publication is free to members of OCP-IP and provides access to a truly
broad range of readers. If you have an article, idea or event that you would
like to promote to our readership, please call us at (USA) 503-619-0560 or
send an email to admin@ocpip.org. Corporate Presentation: This PowerPoint document is kept online at
our public website and can be downloaded from
www.ocpip.org/membership/presentation/. The presentation supports a broad
overview of the structure and operations of OCP-IP and provides an excellent
introduction to our Mission and functions of the organization. This same
information is kept current by regular additions and updates, and is
routinely used by our senior executives in introducing new companies to
OCP-IP. The introduction contains some twenty foils and can be presented in
detail in 45 minutes or read by newcomers in 10-15 minutes. To more clearly
understand our activities and structure, or indeed inform others, please
review this presentation. It includes basic details regarding: our vision,
goals, infrastructure, the OCP socket, BoD (or, “GSC”) and membership
structures, Working Groups, member benefits and simple membership
application instructions. If you would like one of our expert administrators to walk you through a
full introduction to OCP-IP, please contact us at admin@ocpip.org. Value Proposition: The value of the OCP socket to your
organization extends far beyond the basic specification, itself. OCP-IP has
built a comprehensive ecosystem, or infrastructure, surrounding the OCP
standard, that empowers designers by providing not only the tools to benefit
from re-use afforded by OCP-based IP cores, but extends far beyond, with
free support and tools for members, including: technical support, training,
verification tools, certification program, alternate verification schemes,
leading-edge system-level tools, numerous promotional and marketing
opportunities and much, much more. A datasheet reviewing the basic savings
from simply deploying the OCP Specification itself, can be found at http://www.ocpip.org/socket/datasheets/OCP-IP_Value_Proposition_041106.pdf. The nature and value of socket-based design is explained in a popular and
landmark white paper that can be found on our website at www.ocpip.org/socket/ocpspec/licensesignup.
The sum benefits of OCP and its extensive, ready-to-go infrastructure saves
our members from the massive costs of building these supporting tools,
capabilities and functions themselves. This means the value of the OCP
socket and the re-use it inherently ensures, extends to $M’s in annual
savings and real benefits for all members, allowing them to focus on their
higher value-add: design implementation. An OCP-based library approach brings value to both the IP developer, maintaining “golden, fully-verified” IP cores with OCP interfaces, ready for deployment to any interconnect scheme their customers choose, AND the IP integrator, who needs immediately deployable IP, already verified for rapid integration in their designs. Our large membership of EDA providers, leverage the OCP infrastructure to support additional product offerings, and in so doing, complete the broad, OCP-IP ecosystem. |
