Silistix
Silistix is a venture-funded start-up spun-out of the University of Manchester, UK. The company's focus is the development and deployment of self-timed CHip-Area INterconnect (CHAIN) technology for on-chip communication. Network on Chip (NoC) is an example of a CHAIN system.
The complexity of Systems-on-Chip (SoC) has accelerated to the point that the on-chip interconnection
of functional blocks by conventional bus technology is becoming completely intractable. Achieving satisfactory communication among multiple clock domains connected by long, slow wires is the most significant SoC design challenge of the next decade. This phenomenon is commonly referred to as ‘Timing Closure’. Silistix' CHAIN technology provides a solution to the complexity problem in a manner analogous to that used by telephone systems as they migrated from circuit-switched to packetswitched communication, revolutionizing the industry in the process. Similarly, Silistix' solution relegates the ‘Timing Closure’ issue to a much simpler class of problem, reduces on-chip congestion and overall power consumption, and minimizes the impact of on-chip RF noise.

not only on a domestic level, but also on a global scale. Creative and
unique research results with tremendous applicability arise from these
activities. Further, the center is a place to nurture young engineers and
researchers with a strong interest in and passion for technological
development as the backbone of the future semiconductor industry.
Synfora
Synfora, Inc. is the leading provider of application engine synthesis
(AES) software used to design complex systems-on-chips (SoCs). Synfora's
PICO Express product dramatically reduces the cost, time, and risks of
system-on-chip (SoC) design by enabling designers to automatically explore
and implement their algorithms in efficient hardware. These application
engines are used in SoCs targeting the audio, video, imaging, wireless,
security, and other segments of the integrated circuit (IC) design
market.
Synopsys
Synopsys, Inc. is a world leader in electronic design automation (EDA)
software for integrated circuit (IC) design. The company delivers
technology-leading IC design and verification platforms to the global
electronics market, enabling the development of complex systems-on-chips
(SoCs). Synopsys also provides intellectual property and design services
to simplify the design process and accelerate time-to-market for its
customers.
