Denali Software Joins Open Core Protocol International Partnership, Offers OCP-Compliant Memory Controller Cores
PORTLAND, ORE. — June 10, 2002 — Open Core Protocol International Partnership (OCP-IP) today announced that Denali Software, the world leader in memory system development, has joined the organization. Membership in OCP-IP enables Denali to offer OCP-compliant memory controller cores for the commercial system-on-chip (SOC) market place. Compliance with OCP gives Denali's customers better design reuse and faster time-to-market.
"Design reuse has been a concern for quite some time in the semiconductor intellectual property and SOC markets," said Sanjay Srivastava president and CEO of Denali. “We are excited to be part of this emerging standards group that will help our customers reduce their design cycles and bring their products to market quicker."
"Denali is a premier provider of memory controller cores and modeling products that are critical to SOC designs," said Ian Mackintosh, president of OCP-IP. "We are pleased to have Denali adopt and endorse OCP as a standard socket. The addition of Denali to the membership roster shows the strong support throughout industry for a complete socket standard that everyone can use, no matter what their on-chip architecture is, or whose processor cores they're using."

About OCP-IP
The OCP International Partnership Association, Inc. (OCP-IP) was formed in December 2001 to promote and support the open core protocol (OCP) as the complete socket standard that ensures rapid creation and integration of interoperable virtual components. In addition to Sonics, Inc., the inventor of the OCP technology, OCP-IP's founding members and initial Governing Steering Committee participants are: Nokia [NYSE: NOK], Texas Instruments [NYSE: TXN], MIPS Technologies [NasdaqNM: MIPS], and United Microelectronics Corporation [NYSE: UMC]. OCP-IP is a non-profit corporation focused on delivering the first fully supported, openly licensed core-centric protocol that comprehensively fulfills system-level integration requirements. The OCP facilitates IP core reusability and reduces design time and risk, along with manufacturing costs for SoC designs.
