Virtual Silicon Joins Open Core Protocol International Partnership
PORTLAND, ORE. — September 3, 2002 — Open Core Protocol International Partnership (OCP-IP) today announced that Virtual Silicon Technology Inc., a leader in semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) is joining the organization. Virtual Silicon will use the OCP technology to speed design cycles on its standard cell libraries, I/Os, specialty I/Os and interfaces, memory compilers, and PLL compilers.
“As an established supplier of IP for ASIC and COT design flows, Virtual Silicon recognizes the need for open standards that help develop IP blocks,” said John Ford vice president of marketing for Virtual Silicon. “The use of OCP will allow us to increase design reuse and shorten time to market for our customers.”
“We are delighted to see yet another prominent IP provider join the ranks of OCP-IP,” said Ian Mackintosh, president OCP-IP. “The addition of Virtual Silicon further illustrates the industry need for and support of OCP as the only complete, fully supported socket to speed development of IP blocks.”
