eInfochips Joins OCP-IP to Offer OCP 2.0 Compliant IP
Cores and OCP 2.0 eVC
PORTLAND, ORE. — September 8, 2003 — Open Core Protocol
International Partnership (OCP-IP), the association providing a common
standard for intellectual property core interfaces, or sockets, that
facilitate "plug and play" SoC design, today announced that eInfochips, a
leading firm developing intellectual property cores, verification components
and providing design and verification consulting services, has joined the
organization.
In addition, eInfochips announced plans to make their IP cores OCP 2.0
compliant providing the "plug and play" benefit of OCP, enabling easy
integration into SoC designs. Company is in the process of developing an OCP
2.0 eVC using Specman Elite, to support verification of IP blocks and SoC
designs for compliance with OCP. The OCP2.0 eVC will help substantially
reduce the rising verification complexity of intricate SoC designs.
"We are pleased to be a part of OCP-IP and a number of customers are looking
forward to our OCP 2.0 compliant IPs and OCP 2.0 eVC," said Pratul Shroff,
President and CEO of eInfochips Inc. "We see tremendous benefits of OCP as
the standard socket interface for SoC designs, enabling successful
deployment of our IP in customer applications."
"We are delighted to welcome eInfochips into our community. They are well
respected as an IP provider and in the design services community," said Ian
Mackintosh, president of OCP-IP. "Their OCP-centric product plans are a
welcomed addition to our robust and thriving infrastructure."

About OCP-IP
The OCP International Partnership Association, Inc. (OCP-IP) was announced
in December 2001 to promote and support the open core protocol (OCP) as the
complete socket standard that ensures rapid creation and integration of
interoperable virtual components. OCP-IP's Governing Steering Committee
participants include: Nokia [NYSE: NOK], Texas Instruments [NYSE: TXN],
STMicroelectronics [NYSE: STM], United Microelectronics Corporation [NYSE:
UMC], Sonics and other industry leading companies. OCP-IP is a non-profit
corporation delivering the first fully supported, openly licensed
core-centric protocol that comprehensively fulfills system-level integration
requirements. The OCP facilitates IP core reusability and reduces design
time and risk, along with manufacturing costs for SoC designs. For
